NEW HOME ADVANTAGE FOR DUNNSTOWN

It’s game on at the home of the Dunnstown Football Netball Club and Dunnstown Cricket Club with the completion of the upgraded pavilion at Dunnstown Recreation Reserve, backed by the Allan Labor Government.

Member for Eureka Michaela Settle joined representatives from Moorabool Shire Council and the local clubs to officially open the upgrades, made possible by a $300,000 investment from the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.

With grassroots footy and netball back in full swing for another season, the upgrades provide the perfect base for Dunnstown to host bigger events, expand their junior programs, and take grassroots sport to the next level.

The upgraded facilities at the Reserve include player and umpires’ change rooms and amenities suitable for women and girls, a gymnasium, first aid room, meeting room and storage space.

The revamped pavilion is not only a boon for local sports, but the wider community also has access to the venue for meetings and events.

The Victorian Budget 2024/25 is providing more than $23 million to continue delivery of community sport and active recreation infrastructure, and programs to increase participation opportunities and improve accessibility.

From oval redevelopments to pavilion upgrades, investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.

Michaela Settle MP acknowledged the Albanese Labor Government for its $275,000 contribution and Moorabool Shire Council for its more than $640,000 contribution to the project.
